At least 38 people were injured in a fire in central New York. This was reported on November 5 by The New York Times.

The fire occurred on the 20th floor of an apartment building. According to preliminary reports, the source of the fire was a failed electric bicycle battery.

According to one official, the resident was illegally repairing electric bicycles – there were at least five of these vehicles in the place where the fire started.

Two of the victims are currently in intensive care in critical condition and five others were seriously injured.

In January, there was a fire on the third floor of a 19-story building in New York’s Bronx neighborhood. As a result of the accident, 19 people were killed and 63 more were injured. It was later learned that the fire started due to a malfunctioning electric heater. The fire first broke out in a two-story apartment, the fire only engulfed the entire house after the family who lived in the apartment failed to close the door behind them when evacuating.
